Pine Forest Crested Geckos got its start in May of 2010, as a result of a conversation that took place at a yard sale. A bit unusual, but let me explain.
The lady hosting the yard sale had a lot of cages set out, and we began talking about pets. She had numerous reptiles. I had all the usual misconceptions--that they are slimy, carry salmonella, and things like that. The truth is that, far from being slimy, crested geckos feel like soft suede. Their bodies can't harbor salmonella. There are some species of animals that can, but this is not the case with crested geckos.
After a long talk, I went down to the pet store. I'd always admired the beauty of these animals, and saw a particularly nice looking animal there. They let me see and hold it. That was Quinn. I was smitten and have never recovered.
Reptiles are probably the most misunderstood pets out there. Many do make excellent pets, and go well with today's busy lifestyle. They are not as demanding of time and attention as dogs or cats, are lovely and interesting to watch, and many of them do have long life spans. My one regret? It's that I didn't take an unbiased look at reptiles as pets sooner!
Here is the rack holding most of my crested geckos. It's in the living room, where I can see and enjoy them.

All the photos at this domain are my personal property. Please do not take them. Anyone taking them will be fed to a ferocious crested gecko. Here is Tiger Lily, the two gram hatchling, ready and waiting to chomp on transgressors. Seriously, though, please respect my wishes. Thank you.
